How do I select AUTO, MANUAL or RANDOM operating mode on an EI-501 Series timer?

• The timer is displaying the Home screen.

Step-by-Step Resolution

1. Return to the Home Screen

   Press Home if the timer is displaying a setup or programming screen.

2. Cycle Through the Modes

   Press Mode/Del repeatedly to cycle through AUTO, MANUAL and RANDOM.

3. Select the Required Operating Mode

   Stop when the desired mode appears:

   • AUTO runs all programmed events.
   • MANUAL disables all programmed events.
   • RANDOM varies programmed event times by plus or minus one to 30 minutes.

Tips / Additional Notes

• Select AUTO when events must occur at their programmed times.
• Select RANDOM only when varied event times are desired to simulate occupancy.
• If the timer switches at unexpected times, confirm that RANDOM is not selected.
