Question / Problem
How do I change the ON/OFF buttons on my ET70000 Series timer from FIXED operation to a timed PULSE output?
Common Application / Operating Conditions
The ET70000 Series allows the front panel ON and OFF buttons to operate in either FIXED mode (output stays ON until manually turned OFF) or PULSE mode (output energizes the load only for a programmed duration). This setting affects only button presses; scheduled events continue to operate normally.
Step-by-Step Resolution
Move the RUN/SET Switch to SET
Place the RUN/SET switch into the SET position to allow changes to the button behavior settings.
Select PULSE Operation
Press PULSE. This tells the timer that the ON/OFF buttons should operate as timed pulses instead of fixed ON outputs.
Enter the Pulse Duration
Use the number keys to enter the number of seconds the ON button should energize the circuit. This value determines how long the output will remain ON when the button is pressed.
Confirm the Change
Press OK to save the pulse duration and change the ON/OFF button behavior from fixed to pulse.
Return to Normal Operation
Move the RUN/SET switch back to RUN. The ON/OFF buttons will now activate a timed pulse output instead of a fixed ON output.
Tips / Additional Notes
- This change affects only the ON and OFF buttons. Scheduled ON/OFF events remain unchanged.
- Pulse duration is always defined in seconds.
