How Do I Edit Existing Fixed ON/OFF Events on My ET70000 Timer?

Question / Problem

How do I edit existing fixed ON/OFF events on my ET70000 timer? This procedure applies only to fixed events, not Astro, Pulse or Interval modes.

Step-by-Step Resolution

  1. Set the Switch to RUN

    Begin with the RUN/SET switch in the RUN position before enabling or disabling circuits.

  2. Select Circuits to Edit

    Enable the circuits you want to modify and disable all other circuits. This process only works when the selected circuits include the schedule you wish to edit. If the selected circuits have different schedules, those schedules will not appear when editing. To view schedules that are different, you must view the circuits independently.

  3. Enter Programming Mode

    Move the RUN/SET switch down to SET, then press PROG.

  4. Locate the Original Event

    Press the appropriate day key for the original event, or press ALL/0 if it applies to all days.

  5. Review Events

    Press REV until the fixed ON/OFF event you want to edit appears.

  6. Clear the Existing Event

    Press CLEAR to remove the selected fixed event.

  7. Enter the New Event

    Type the new ON or OFF time, then press AM or PM as applicable. If the timer is set to 24-hour mode, AM/PM selection is not required.

  8. Confirm the New Event

    Press OK to save your changes.

  9. Save and Exit

    Move the RUN/SET switch back to RUN to save all changes.

Tips / Additional Notes

  • These steps apply only to fixed events. Astro (Sunrise/Sunset) event times must be changed in the setup menu. Pulse and Interval events cannot be modified through this method and require additional steps.
  • Always press CLEAR before entering a new fixed event. Entering a new time without clearing the old event first will create an additional event rather than replacing the existing one.
  • Double-check AM/PM settings before saving to avoid events running 12 hours off schedule.
  • Changes do not take effect until the RUN/SET switch is returned to RUN.
  • If you need to make many changes or have multiple unwanted events, it may be easier to perform a factory reset on the timer and reprogram from scratch rather than editing individual events.

Troubleshooting

  • Edits did not save: Verify the RUN/SET switch was moved back to RUN after editing. Changes are not stored until the switch is returned to RUN.
  • Wrong event changed: Ensure the correct day key was selected and the correct event was displayed before pressing CLEAR.
  • Unexpected results: Review all programmed events to confirm there are no overlapping fixed ON/OFF times on the same circuit.
