Applies To
Intermatic ETW Series and PE Series Wi-Fi timers, including the ETW2CP, ETW3CP (general purpose) and PE723P, PE733P (pool and spa).
Question / Problem
After I have connected my timer and it appears as New Timer in the Intermatic Connect app, how do I set it up and customize the circuits?
Step-by-Step Resolution
-
Open the New Timer
After you have connected the timer and it appears as New Timer on the screen, tap the arrow to begin setup.
-
Rename the Timer
Enter a descriptive name such as "Main Pool," "Entryway Lights," or "West Lot."
-
Select Circuit Configuration
The app will ask if you want to combine Circuits 1 and 2 into a single DPDT circuit for 240 VAC loads. Choose Yes only if you need 240 VAC operation. Leave the circuits separate for independent control when combining is not required.
-
Rename Circuits
Each circuit will be listed with options to enable or disable it and assign a custom name. Enter descriptive names that identify the connected load, such as "Pool Pump," "Spa Lights," "East Lot," or "Entryway."
-
Continue to Device Configuration
Tap Next to proceed to scheduling or additional device settings.
Tips / Additional Notes
- Use descriptive circuit names to simplify scheduling and long-term management. Names can be changed later in the app.
- Only combine Circuits 1 and 2 when required for 240 VAC operation. Once combined, the two circuits function as a single DPDT output.
- For PE723P and PE733P pool and spa timers, Circuit 1 (or Circuits 1 and 2 when combined) typically controls the pool pump. Additional circuits can be assigned to spa pumps, booster pumps, or lighting.
- A video walkthrough of this process is available on the Intermatic YouTube channel.
