Question / Problem
My timer shows dawn or dusk stuck at 12:00. How do I fix it?
Installation / Application Conditions
- Timer has newer firmware with the countdown feature
- Date and time are set
- LAT/LONG has been entered (or recently changed)
Step-by-Step Resolution
- Enter SETUP
- Press MODE until SETUP appears.
- Go to LAT
- Press ON/OFF until you see LAT.
Enter the Latitude
Use + or - to enter the latitude in a format that includes the tenths digit (one digit after the decimal point), even though the decimal point is not shown on the display.
U.S. Latitude Enter As 41.9° (Chicago) 419 34.0° (Los Angeles) 340 29.8° (Houston) 298 47.6° (Seattle) 476 Press ON/OFF to confirm.
- Go to LONG
- Press ON/OFF to advance to LONG.
Enter the Longitude
Use + or - to enter the longitude in the same format as latitude, including the minus sign for west longitudes (all U.S. longitudes are negative).
U.S. Longitude Enter As -87.6° (Chicago) -876 -118.2° (Los Angeles) -1182 -95.4° (Houston) -954 -122.3° (Seattle) -1223 Press ON/OFF to confirm.
- Review DAWN (optional adjustment)
- Press ON/OFF to advance to DAWN. Use + or - to adjust the DAWN time if you want to tweak it.
- Review DUSK (optional adjustment)
- Press ON/OFF to advance to DUSK. Use + or - to adjust the DUSK time if you want to tweak it.
- Return to AUTO or RAND
- When complete, press MODE until you are back to AUTO or RAND.
Tips / Additional Notes
- If dawn or dusk still shows 12:00, repeat the steps and confirm LAT and LONG each include the tenths digit.
- DAWN and DUSK adjustments are offsets. For the most accurate astronomic times, confirm LAT/LONG first, then apply any desired tweaks.
- If you are unsure of your LAT/LONG, use a phone GPS app or an online map to confirm your location values before entering them.
