Note: Newer ST01 and EI600 timers released in February 2023 include updated menus with LAT and LONG entry, language selection, and an optional countdown mode. Earlier models do not include these features.

How do I perform a factory reset and complete the initial setup on a newer ST01 / EI600 timer?

- The timer displays Lang and Func immediately after a factory reset.
- The setup menu includes LAT and LONG instead of NORTH, CENTER, or SOUTH.
- Initial setup must be completed before any ON or OFF events can be programmed.
- A factory reset is required when switching between standard and countdown operation.
Step-by-Step Resolution
Perform a Factory Reset
Press and hold ON/OFF. While holding it, press and release RESET. Keep holding ON/OFF until INIT appears on the display, then release. The timer enters language selection.
Select the Language
Use + or - to choose ENG, FRN, or SPAN, then press ON/OFF to confirm.
Select Standard Timer Operation
Use + or - to select STD for standard scheduling and press ON/OFF to confirm. This article covers standard mode only. If DOWN is selected, the timer enters countdown mode and the setup steps differ.
Enter SETUP Mode
Press MODE until SETUP appears on the display, then press ON/OFF to begin entering the time and date.
Set the Current Hour
Use + or - to set the current hour, making sure the AM or PM indicator is correct, then press ON/OFF to confirm.
Set the Current Minute
Use + or - to set the current minute and press ON/OFF to confirm.
Set the Year
Use + or - to select the current year, then press ON/OFF to confirm.
Set the Month
Use + or - to select the current month and press ON/OFF to confirm.
Set the Date
Use + or - to select the current day of the month, then press ON/OFF to confirm. The timer displays the day of the week.
Confirm the Day of the Week
If the displayed day is correct, press ON/OFF to accept it. If not, review and correct the previous date settings.
Select the Daylight Saving Time Setting
Use + or - to choose AUTO if your area observes daylight saving time or OFF if it does not, then press ON/OFF to confirm.
Select Your Time Zone
Use + or - to choose AKT, AT, CT, ET, HT, MT, NT, or PT for your time zone and press ON/OFF to confirm.
Select Your Country
Use + or - to choose USA, MEX, or CAN, then press ON/OFF to confirm.
Enter the Latitude
Use + or - to enter the latitude as digits without a decimal point. The final digit represents the tenths place.

Enter the Longitude
Use + or - to enter the longitude in the same format as latitude, including the minus sign for west longitudes (all U.S. longitudes are negative).

Adjust the Dawn Offset if Needed
The timer displays the calculated dawn time. Use + or - to adjust dawn earlier or later by up to ninety nine minutes, then press ON/OFF to confirm.
Adjust the Dusk Offset if Needed
The timer displays the calculated dusk time. Use + or - to adjust dusk earlier or later by up to ninety nine minutes and press ON/OFF to confirm.
Exit SETUP
After dusk is confirmed the display returns to SETUP. Press MODE to exit setup and prepare the timer for programming templates or custom events.
Tips / Additional Notes
- The timer does not display decimal points. The final digit represents the tenths place.
- A factory reset is the only way to return to the LANG and FUNC menus.
