Question / Problem
Can my sprinkler/irrigation time switch be used with a rain sensor?
Product Details and Use
Some Intermatic sprinkler/irrigation time switches include dedicated low-voltage terminals for connecting a rain sensor. These terminals allow the sensor to interrupt watering when rainfall is detected. Only models with powered 24 VAC sensor terminals support this feature.
The table below identifies which sprinkler/irrigation time switch models can be used with a rain sensor.
Rain Sensor Compatibility Table
| Time Switch Model | Rain Sensor Compatible? |
|---|---|
| T8805P101C | No |
| R8815P101C | Yes |
| R8816P101C | Yes |
| R8806P101C | No |
| T8845PV | No |
| R8806M101C | No |
| T8805M101C | No |
Tips / Additional Notes
- Our R8815P101C and R8816P101C solutions provide provide low-voltage 24 VAC terminals for rain sensor connection.
- Do not apply power to rain sensor terminals. They are powered internally by the time switch.
- Only connect rain sensors that are designed to be powered by 24 VAC controls.
